Security and Safety at TLPCDC
Our Center places the highest priority on the security and safety of every child within our care. We have invested in the highest level of CCTV and intrusion security technology available in our area so that every parent can leave their child in our care with great confidence as to their child’s well being.
Cameras are strategically placed in each classroom, common areas, the play ground, the parking lot and front area of the facility. The ONLINE KIDSCAM allows Parents secure access to watch live video of their child learning, playing, and interacting with other children in the center throughout the day. Parents are able to sign-up on a monthly for fee. Parents can authorize up to four family members to have secure access to the ONLINE KIDSCAM.
The facility is monitored for intrusion 24 hours a day. A keyless entry system is in place at the main entrance to the building. Each family is assigned a unique identification code for access into the building. A photograph of each parent, guardian or authorized representative will be taken at the time of enrollment (or soon thereafter) and maintained in the center’s database. All authorized representative must provide photo identification before a child will be released from our care.
A detailed evacuation plan is place in each classroom in the event of an emergency that requires evacuation. A Crisis Management Plan, all necessary equipment and supplies will be stored on site in the event of an emergency situation that require our staff and student to remain in doors for an extended period of time. Our facility is in compliance with the State of Delaware, New Castle County Fire Marshall’s codes and guidelines.
Safety & Outdoors
TLPCDC has a Safety and Outdoor Policy to ensure that your child is under proper supervision at all times. Our outside play area is fenced in and situated away from the road for your child's safety. Each employee completes an orientation program when they are hired at our center. During which, they cover all the center rules, guidelines, policies and procedures. Employees are expected to follow all TLPCDC rules, guidelines, policies and procedures in this area throughout their employment with our center. To help them do so, it is important that our parents follow a number of guidelines as well. Please drop your child off in his/her classroom. Do not leave them in the hallway to find their own way or leave them in a room where no teacher is present. When picking up your child, we ask that you please come into the building. We know it may seem convenient to send an older child into the center while you wait outside, but for your child's safety, you or an adult representative must drop off and pick up your child. Also, when children are on the playground you cannot enter and exit the property through the playground gates. All entry and exits must be through the main entrance. Again, our first priority at TLPCDC is to ensure all of our children's safety. We would like to thank each and every parent for their adherence to our policies.
